The Bay Area is an incredible natural playground for adventure sports. It is often expensive and intimidating getting into these sports, if you are solo or new to the area, Days In The Bay's mission is to provide a unique opportunity for Bay Area residents to tap into their adventurous spirit by trying a new sport and making active friends in an organized group setting.
Jessie Hassell - Founder

her east coast roots for a more active lifestyle in the Bay Area. She
started Kite Adventures, a
kiteboarding travel company, in August of 2004 and spends her time between
the trails of Sausalito and the beaches of the northeast coast of Brazil.
Jessie is involved with many groups in the Bay Area that are community
focused. She loves bringing people together for a purpose of self-discovery
and active passions.
Jeff Kafka
Kiteboarding Instructor for Days In The Bay and owner
of Wind Over Water Kiteboarding. He first saw kiteboarding in the 90's
on Maui and got into this sport as an alternative to surfing. He's been
stoked on it ever since. He enjoys the several different styles of kiteboarding
that the sport has broken off to, snow kiting in the winter, big wave
riding, and freestyle. It is always fun and fresh. People call him an
extreme athletic but he sees himself as just having fun.
Modern Sailing
For over 24 years, Modern Sailing Academy has been introducing
people to sailing from our headquarters in Sausalito, California. They
have the most experienced instructors on the Bay. Modern Sailing's instructors
hold US Coast Guard 50 Ton (or greater) Master's Licenses, representing
decades of sailing experience. The instructors are former America's Cup
campaigners, world cruisers, and Coast Guard commanders. Their high standards
have earned them accolades in the sailing community, including the American
Sailing Association's 2004 School of the Year award.
